Indie Filmmaker John Waters
Set To Unspool Keynote Address At
Dv Expo And Web Video Expo 2000
All Aspects of Digital Video to Be Explored and Presented
to Working Professionals at 4th Annual Event
San Francisco, CA, July 24, 2020 -- The CMP DV Media Group today announced that legendary independent filmmaker John Waters will present one of three keynote addresses at the combined DV Expo and Web Video Expo to be held October 2-6 at the Long Beach Convention Center in Long Beach, CA. Called the "Prince of Puke" and the "Pope of Trash," Waters is responsible for such popular cult film classics as Hairspray, Polyester and Serial Mom. DV Expo is the premier conference and trade show event for professionals working in all aspects of digital video production, postproduction and delivery.
In his keynote presentation for DV Expo, Waters, whose filmmaking career spans three decades of "trashy films," will address such topics as the importance of "shock value" in all its forms, the beauty of what he calls "good bad taste" and the production of his latest film, Cecil B. Demented, which is due for release in early August.
DV Expo, now in its fourth year, features five days of more than 50 sessions in which digital video professionals share their expertise, exchange ideas, learn practical tips and see the latest products for digital video production and delivery.
Web Video Expo, which is being presented for the first time this year and is co-located with DV Expo, provides practical solutions for digital professionals who want to produce and distribute compelling rich media for the Web. Sessions will cover content acquisition, authoring and compression processes, broadband delivery strategies and business practices.
Also new this year, a full day DV Independent Film Symposium will be held the first day of the show, on October 2. Professional and aspiring filmmakers will benefit from the skills and experience of seasoned filmmakers, many of whom have begun using digital video as one of their primary storytelling tools. Sessions include "Film-style Production with Digital Video," "Choosing the Best Gear for Your Budget," "Independent Storytelling" and others.
Consistent with the recent explosion of interest in digital video and Web video, approximately 10,000 professionals and amateurs are expected to attend this year's combined Expo events, which offer more than 110 technical and creative design classes and an expo hall with more than 100 companies showcasing the latest digital and Web video technologies and tools.
For more information on the conference, registration or hotel accommodations, professionals can go to www.dvexpo.com or www.webvideoexpo.com or phone 1-800-789-2223.
